President Joe Biden is preparing for his first late-night television appearance since taking office.

Biden will appear on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with comedian Jimmy Fallon on Friday. Biden will appear virtually; the White House didn’t say where he will be when he takes the segment.

Biden has previously made two appearances on the show. He joked with Fallon in April 2020, a week before he became the alleged Democratic candidate for president, and in September 2016, near the end of his eight-year tenure as vice president.

Biden has suffered a sharp drop in polls and has been under pressure to get more involved with the media.

He has tried to raise his public profile by traveling the country promoting a $ 1 trillion infrastructure bill, money that will be used to repair roads and bridges, and high-speed internet across the country set up.

The president has also sought public support for a separate welfare and climate bill that stalled in the Senate.
