The crew of the International Space Station (ISS) took photos and videos of San Diego and San Diego Counties on Saturday as they soared over the region at an altitude of 260 miles, NASA said. The outpost took the pictures as it entered the United States from the southwestern Pacific. The station moves at about 5 miles per second and orbits the earth about every 90 minutes.

The station’s crew currently includes Megan McArthur, who received her PhD from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego in 2002.
