Michelin Guide Bestows Bib Gourmand Status on Five San Diego Restaurants
[ad_1]
Five restaurants in the San Diego area were selected for the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand, an award given by its inspectors to “good quality, inexpensive restaurants” which, according to the tire company, “leave a feeling of satisfaction when You ate so well at such a reasonable price. ” In the US, criteria include being able to order two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $ 40 or less.
Callie, Cesarina, Ciccia Osteria, Dija Mara and Morning Glory form the youngest group of Bib Gourmand establishments in San Diego to join the local locations selected in 2019 and included in the first national Michelin guide.
Chef Travis Swikard, for whom Callie in the East Village is his first solo restaurant, said: “We are honored to be recognized by Michelin. We stay true to our mission statement and strive to offer excellent cuisine, service and ambience in an entertaining, informal and accessible atmosphere. It’s not just an honor for us, but also for San Diego, a city where we all work together to improve the local culinary scene. “
This latest news follows on from last week’s preview of five local “culinary gems” awards, and sets the stage for a big announcement that will mark the launch of the 2021 edition of the Michelin Guide California on Tuesday 28th.
Michelin didn’t release a 2020 version of the guide because of the global pandemic, instead choosing to publish a “New Discoveries” list in California that included five restaurants in San Diego.
