SAN DIEGO (AP) – San Diego restaurants are allowed to continue serving customers on sidewalks and in streets after the city council approved new regulations making permanent the outdoor move that helped restaurants survive the pandemic.
Tuesday’s 6-2 vote will take effect in July when the current program expires, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The restaurant operation can be extended to chargeable and chargeable parking spaces in front of the event locations, provided they are along unpainted, yellow or green curbs and are at least 6 meters away from intersections, corners, alleys or driveways.
