“The Wizard of Oz” will be presented by the Youth Theater in the Moonlight Amphitheater until October 30th. Grab the kids, there’s still time. More information is available at http://www.moonlightstage.com.

The 20th San Diego International Film Festival ended on October 22nd. With over 160 films listed in multiple locations, it was an opportunity to watch films from around the world from all genres without getting on a plane. As a movie enthusiast, it was a pleasure to see so many of them from the comfort of my couch. Some might call them little films, but often their content wasn’t.

A correction from last week. San Diego Rep is located in the Lyceum in downtown San Diego. Her next show is “The Second City, She the People,” which begins November 18th and runs through December 5th. Card information is available at http://www.sdrep.org.

The North Coast Repertory in Solana Beach opened on the 20th with “Ben Butler” and will run through November 14th, followed by the popular production of “Patsy Cline”. Tickets can be found at http://www.northcoastrep.org

Broadway San Diego kicks off “Hairspray” from November 16-21, before leaving town to open “My Fair Lady” on the 30th for just a week. More information is available at http://www.broadwaySD.com.

From November 19th, New Village Arts in Carlsbad presents the world premiere musical “1222 Oceanfront, A Black Family Christmas”. Tickets can be found at http://www.nva.org.

Meanwhile, a Beatles tribute, “A Hard Day’s Night”, will run at the Welk Theater on various evenings starting November 3rd, with a tribute to Creedance Clearwater on November 13th and 20th. Go to http: //www.sandiegotickets.welkresorts .com.

An exciting new show about Vincent Van Gogh opens in Paris around February 1886 at the La Jolla Playhouse. “The Yellow House” is a glimpse into a period in his life. Visit http://www.lajollaplayhouse.org and check out the parking options.

Further south in the Old Globe, they switch to Dr. Seuss’ “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” through December 31st. Secure your tickets for the best seats early on at http://www.theoldglobe.org.

“La Cage Aux Folles” is still tearing open the stage at the Cygnet Theater. It will close on November 7th. This show, not to be missed, is an absolute delight in singing, dancing and high kicks. Tickets can be found at http://www.thecygnettheatre.com.

The San Diego Musical Theater has just closed “Rent” with no production released for the upcoming holiday season.

Until November 14th, “The Belle of Amherst”, the story of the American poet Emily Dickinson, will take place in The Lamb’s Playhouse in Coronado. Visit the Del and enjoy a walk on the beach. More information is available at http://www.lambsplayers.org.
