SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE) – The California UnitedHealthcare Community Plan today announced a $ 1.5 million investment in community-based programs that aim to reduce health inequalities and improve health equity in San Diego. The funding will support initiatives by 17 San Diego organizations, including community and religious organizations, educational institutions, state-qualified health centers, and nonprofits, to address the specific health needs of underserved members of the community and gaps in access to health care.
Funding will support interfaith community services; Champions for health; Chicano Federation of San Diego County; San Diego County Coalition of Sponsors; San Diego Youth Services; San Diego Family Health Centers; Neighborhood health care; South Bay Community Services; Health corps; SAY San Diego; Health centers in the municipality of La Maestra; Cajon Valley Union School District; Oceanside Unified School District; San Diego Rescue Mission; TrueCare; San Ysidro health; and Father Joe’s Villages.
