The vegan coffeeshop Superbloom is now open at the Mission Bay Beach Club in San Diego, formerly known as the Mission Bay Visitors Information Center. Customers can choose between hot and cold drinks, as well as pastries, savory starters and ice cream sandwiches.

The Mission Bay Beach Club

Mission Bay Beach Club is one of the most famous structures in San Diego. With a shell-shaped structure, funky roof design and positioning right on Mission Bay, this place attracts the attention of passers-by. It was originally built in 1969 as a communal hangout for locals and visitors, but in 2010 the place was shut down and vacated.

This year the building was modernized by Bradley Schnell of Playground Design and Kristine Overacre of Beaucoup Creative in collaboration with the City of San Diego and the Mission Bay Parks Department. Today it’s a waterfront restaurant and events center that houses bike rentals, a beach boutique, and the vegan café Superbloom. Sometime next year, the wood-fired pizzeria and wine bar Picnic will open on the bay-facing side of the building.

The ultimate stop for vegan coffee, juice, and pastries in San Diego

Superbloom is now open with a range of offerings that include vegan coffee, cold pressed juices, savory dishes, pastries and desserts. The hot and cold coffee drinks, which are made from beans from the local roastery Mostra, can be infused with flavored syrups and oat milk as desired. As for food, this trendy cafe has vegan scones, croissants, and oat milk ice cream sandwiches from Split Bakehouse, as well as salads, bowls, and other hearty entrees from Urban Remedy. Superbloom is the ultimate vegan coffee, meal, and treat stop in San Diego!

When you’re ready to have a drink, find the Superbloom Coffee & Juice Bar at 2688 E Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109. The store is open 7:00 am to 4:00 pm every day except Tuesdays. Visit the Mission Bay Beach Club website for more information.
