British pop star Ed Sheeran said on Sunday he tested positive for COVID-19 and would do interviews and appearances from his home while isolating himself.

Sheeran, 30, posted the news on social media days before his new studio album was released.

“Quick note to let you know that I have unfortunately tested positive for Covid, so now I am self-isolating and following government guidelines,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram. “That means I can’t make any personal commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my scheduled interviews / gigs as possible from home. Sorry to everyone I let down. “

Sheeran was just announced on November 6th as a musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

The representatives did not immediately say which performances he is canceling and which ones he will hold from home.

Sheeran’s official website doesn’t list performances before April. The four-time Grammy winner’s new studio album is called “=”, which is pronounced “Equals”.
