Paul Rudd was named Sexiest Man Alive 2021 by People magazine.
Rudd, best known for starring in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” films “This Is 40” and “Clueless,” was revealed as this year’s winner on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday night.
The actor told the magazine in a Friday issue that some would be surprised he received the honor.
“I’m conscious enough to know that if people heard that I was selected for this, they would say, ‘What?'” He said. “This is not false humility. There are so many people who should get this before me. “
But of course Rudd won’t refuse the honor. He jokingly hopes the new title will give him an invitation to “That Sexy Dinner” with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Michael B. Jordan – all of whom are recent winners.
Other past winners include John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham.
“I think I’ll be on a lot more yachts,” said Rudd. “I look forward to expanding my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to breed better in really soft light. I like to brood. I think this will help me get more inner and more mysterious. And I’m looking forward to it. “

Rudd’s first big break came in 1995 in Clueless, a cult classic starring Alicia Silverstone. He also made a name for himself in several comedies such as the “Anchorman” films, “The 40 Year Old Virgin” and “This is 40”, an offshoot of the comedy “Knocked Up”.
The actor achieved superstar status in a number of Marvel superhero films, including Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame. He will star in the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and appear alongside Will Ferrell in the new Apple TV + series “The Shrink Next Door”, which premieres on November 12th.
Rudd, 52, said his wife was initially “drugged” after telling her the news. The couple have two children, 17-year-old Jack and 12-year-old Darby.
“But you know she was very cute,” he said of his 18-year-old wife, Julie. “After some giggles and shock, she said, ‘Oh, you got it right.’ And that was very cute. She probably wasn’t telling the truth, but what will she say? “
Rudd expects his friends to give him “so much grief”.
