For the investigation into the unexpected death of rocker’s daughter Chris Daughtry, the Tennessee sheriff’s office warned it was too premature to classify the case as murder.

“On Friday, November 12, 2021, the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office and Regional Forensic Center opened an investigation into the death of Hannah Marie Price, aged 25,” said Attorney General Jared Effler in a press release Jan. Tennessee.

Effler said the sheriff’s office was treating the case as a “death investigation.” He added that “any attempt to have it currently classified as a murder investigation is premature and irresponsible.”

“Once the investigation into Hannah Marie Price’s death is completed, authorities will forward their findings to the Eighth District Attorney’s Office for review,” he said.

Daughtry shared the sad news of his daughter’s death on social media late Friday, along with a statement that confirmed shows would be postponed or canceled for the week ahead.

The “American Idol” alum paid tribute to his daughter on Sunday and said he would “process the last 24 hours”.

“I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I only recently lost my mother to cancer, but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I’ve dealt with it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our beloved Hannah and it’s another big hit with our family, “wrote Daughtry. “Thank you for your kind words and condolences. You are really felt and appreciated.
