I don’t know about you, but I feel 22 … again!
Pop star Taylor Swift released “Red (Taylor’s Version)” on Thursday evening. This version of their original album from 2012 contains 30 tracks and a “Message from Taylor”.
Swift appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” when the album was released and said she was excited to share the new songs from the vault.
“What really excites me are the songs that no one has heard before and that should be on this album,” she said. “And I have artists like Chris Stapleton and Phoebe Bridgers on them.”
She said the song she’s most excited about is the 10-minute version of “All Too Well”. Swift said she hand-written the original long version at a rehearsal when she was 21.
“I showed up to rehearsals and I was just very upset and sad and anyone could tell – it really wasn’t fun being around me that day,” she said. “And so I started playing guitar and playing the same four chords over and over … the band went along and I started talking about what I was going through … it went on and the song built continue building and building and building in intensity. “
In the end, the song was 10-15 minutes long, she said, and her sound engineer recorded the whole thing. The new album includes a version of it, although Swift joked that it was “an absurd length” for a song.
“Who thinks they can put out a 10 minute song?” She laughed. “I mean myself.”
“We want a 10-minute song,” Fallon replied.
“And you get that,” she quipped.

On Friday evening, Swift will also release her new short film of the same name, “All Too Well”. Following an afternoon premiere in New York City, the film will air online at 7 p.m. ET.
She stated that the film has lots of Easter eggs in it – a trend she started with her first album.
Swift said it was the first time she started leaving clues in the lyrics of her debut album, and from then on it was “out of control”.
“Then I couldn’t stop and all I was thinking was, ‘How can I hint things, how far is too far in advance? Can I hint three years in advance? Can I even plan things that far ?? I think I’ll try, ‘”she laughed. “I think it’s perfectly reasonable for people to be normal music fans and have a normal relationship with music. But if you want to go down a rabbit hole with us, come with us, the water is great.”
After a well-documented and public argument with her former label Big Machine and managing director Scooter Braun, Swift has recorded new versions of her earlier works so that she can own the masters.
In November 2020, the singer said the process was “both exciting and creatively fulfilling”.
In April 2021 Swift released her 2008 album “Fearless” again. Their new version contained several unreleased songs “from the vault”.
Swift also released two sister albums in 2020, Folklore and Evermore. The eighth and ninth albums were a departure from the upbeat pop we’ve come to expect from the singer-songwriter in recent years.
“It was different with folklore. I had less of the feeling that I was leaving, but more like returning, ”she wrote in December. “I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary / non-imaginary stories.”
Swift has yet to re-record her debut album “Taylor Swift”, her 2010 album “Speak Now”, her 2014 album “1989” and her 2017 album “Reputation”.
She is also said to be the musical performer on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.
