WHAT IS WRONG: Boise State (15-8, 4-6 MW) is underway this week, while the Broncos will travel to UNLV (15-6, 6-4 MW) for a first serve on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. (mountain), followed by a 7 p.m. (MT) start in San Diego State (6-16, 3-7 MW) on Saturday.

CUSTOMER SERVICE BOISE STATE: The Broncos go into the weekend after hitting a 3-0 mark last week and taking a five-point home to Utah on October 19, followed by two road losses at Fresno State 3-1 and Sacramento State 3 : 0.

In 23 games, Boise State is led by Lauren Ohlinger, who has achieved league highs for kills (310) and points (373.5) and is second in the service aces (40). The Junior Outside Hitter ranks ninth nationally for the total number of service aces, 26th for the service aces per set (0.47) and 32nd place for the total number of points.

Makayla Hansen follows with 165 kills and 75 blocks. Kayly Pau is third with 136 kills and 40 blocks, while Alyssa Wissinger is fourth with 124 kills and 86 blocks (2nd MW).

As a team, Boise State hits 0.258 percent (2nd MW / 39th NCAA) and keeps the opponents at 0201 percent (5th MW). The Broncos averaged 12.63 kills per set (7th MW), 2.63 blocks (1st MW / 20th NCAA), 1.93 service aces (2nd MW / 16th NCAA), and 12.76 digs ( 7. MW). Boise State leads the MW, ranking fourth nationwide for total blocks (226.0) and third in the NCAA for total service aces (166).

SCOUTING UNLV: Like the Broncos, the Rebels have struggled lately losing three of their last four competitions. You start the week with 15: 6 in the overall ranking and 6: 4 in the conference game. UNLV went through a breakup last week, beating Wyoming 3-2 in Las Vegas before losing 3-0 in Colorado State. Mariena Hayden leads the Rebels and MW in kills per set with 4.09, while Kate Brennan is second in the league with 0.396. As a team, UNLV hit 0.259 percent (1st MW) while their opponents hit 0.190 (2nd MW). The rebels are the defending champions of the conference and have been selected to repeat in 2021.

THE UNLV SERIES: The all-time streak is tight, with Boise State leading them 13-10. The Broncos won the first meeting of the year 3-2 in Boise (October 16). The Rebels won both meetings last year (spring 2021) in Las Vegas. Boise State leads the streak in the Las Vegas competitions by 7-5. Additionally, the Broncos also lead the MW Series 11-6, which dates back to 2011 when Boise State joined the league.

THE LAST TIME THE BRONCOS AND THE REBELS ARE: BOISE, Idaho (Oct. 16) – Lauren Ohlinger and Jessica Donahue scored 26 of Boise State’s 54 kills that day, leading the Broncos to a five-set win over UNLV at the Bronco Gym. The game was close all along as the two teams swapped sets, with the Blues and Oranges winning the first, third and fifth periods. Ohlinger finished the contest with her seventh double-double of the season with a team high of 14 kills to go with 14 digs.
Jessica Donahue wasn’t far behind a team high of 0.600 percent on 12 kills and no mistakes on 20 attacks. UNLV was led by Mariena Hayden with 23 kills and 10 excavations, followed by Milica Tasic with 12 kills. Both teams finished the competition with 0.248 percent.

CUSTOMER CUSTOMER STATE OF SAN DIEGO: The Aztecs are 6-16 overall and 3-7 in the MW game. They have suffered three straight defeats since their win at Boise State on October 14th. They lost 3-2 at home to Colorado State last week and then fell 3-0 in Wyoming. Victoria O’Sullivan leads the Aztecs with 258 kills and ranks fifth in the MW with 3.53 kills per set. As a team, SDSU hit 0.219 percent (7th MW) while their opponents hit 0.244 (10th MW). The Aztecs were voted sixth in the Mountain West race in 2021.

THE STATE SERIES OF SAN DIEGO: This will be the second meeting of the year between the Broncos and the Aztecs, with SDSU beating the Broncos 3-0 for the first time in Boise (October 14th). The all-time range is now 10, while Boise State leads the MW range 10-9. The series is tied at 4-4 in competitions that are played in San Diego.

THE LAST TIME AGAINST SAN DIEGO STATE: BOISE, Idaho (Oct. 14) – Boise state had no response to San Diego state’s Victoria O’Sullivan, who recorded 22 kills to lead the Aztecs to a street win. Lauren Ohlinger led the Broncos with a team high of eight kills in a night when Boise State hit a solid 0.337 percent as a team; unfortunately, San Diego State hit 0.400 percent. Jessica Donahue followed Ohlinger with a hit of 0.455 percent, but only counted six kills in eleven attacks. Heipua Tautua’a followed O’Sullivan with 11 kills for SDSU.

DONAHUE TIES RALLY SCORING THE ERA BLOCKS RECORD: Jessica Donahue has hit Sadie Maughan’s (2007-10) school record for career blocks during the Rally Scoring Era (RSE) with 420. She posted two in Fresno state (Oct. 21) to maintain the brand.

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY: The Broncos frontline has had double-digit team blocks in 14 of 23 competitions to date, with a high of 18 against San Jose State (Sept. 30, tied for 12).

THE BLUE WALL NATIONAL RANKING: The Broncos lead Mountain West and are fourth nationwide with 226 blocks. The Blue Wall also tops the MW and is 20th in the NCAA for blocks per set of 2.63.

TEAM DEPTH / CHANGE IN LINE-UP: Boise State has one of the strongest teams in program history and has had the luxury of running 14 of its 17 student athletes at least once this season. The Broncos have shown nine different lineups in 23 competitions.

BOSS AT SETTER: Senior Danielle Boss returned to the setter where she started the last three campaigns. She started the season ninth all-time and fifth in the rally scoring era (RSE) for career assists at Boise State with 2,151. She opened the season with 755 to move up to seventh place overall and fourth place in RSE with 2,906.

WISSINGER LEADS MW FOR BLÖCKE: In Mountain West, Alyssa Wissinger is in first place for blocks per set with 1.19 and second for total blocks with 86.

BOSS NATIONAL RANKING FOR TOOLS: Dani Boss ranks 42nd across the country for assists per set at 10.34, which is second in the MW.

OHLINGER NATIONAL RANKING: Lauren Ohlinger ranks ninth in the NCAA for total service aces (40), 26th nationwide for service aces per set (0.47), 46th for total kills (310) and the 32nd for the total number of points (373.5).
