In one fell swoop, CH Projects redesigned the neighborhood, reopened Noble Experiment and unveiled a brand new bar behind the other two in the East Village of downtown San Diego. Accessed through a hidden door, Young Blood is a fantastic new bar that needs a ticket to enter and offers an individual three-course cocktail experience.

Kindred opens tropical bar and vegan restaurant in South Park
Popular vegan cocktail bar Kindred brings a second concept to South Park, serving a purely vegan menu and exotic, tropical drinks inspired by Permanent Vacation, their five-year weekly pop-up. It’s called the Mothership and is slated to land on 30th Street this fall or winter.
Mochi donuts come to the convoy
With line drawing locations in the LA area, Mochinut is expanding to San Diego with an outpost just opened on Convoy Street. Specializing in chewy mochi donuts made from glutinous rice flour – which are available in flavors such as matcha, strawberry and churro – the chain is also coming to Westfield UTC and Mira Mesa.
Award-winning Artisan Ice Cream expands to San Diego
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, a cult favorite for premium ice cream, is slated to hit Carlsbad and North Park by the end of the year. The acclaimed Scoop shop, which serves popular flavors like Brambleberry Crisp and Salty Caramel, was on the news recently for creating a frenzied ice cream in honor of Dolly Parton.
