We’re thrilled to announce that Miracle and Sippin ‘Santa – the popular Christmas themed cocktail pop-up bars – are returning to San Diego for Christmas 2021 with new partner locations and new beverage menus around the world.
The Miracle team is entering its eighth year with a goal of making this season one of the best ever! After the challenges of 2020, the opportunity to safely bring both cocktail concepts back is a significant occasion to toast this Christmas.
“Miracle and Sippin ‘Santa have always been a festive vacation spot for our fans – from guests to partners to industry professionals – and we’re incredibly happy to bring back our fun and quirky vacation oasis this year,” says Greg Boehm, owner and Creator of Miracle. “The Christmas season has always been a time to share joy and camaraderie, and this year we plan to make those cherished moments even more special with new programs and events.”
The miracle story
The Miracle story began in 2014 when Boehm turned his Bar Mace into a winter wonderland in the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Guided by his mother’s advice, Miracle was born on Ninth Street, and the passionate reception soon led industrialists from other cities around the world to recreate the Miracle Christmas magic in their own bars.
Since then, under the direction of Boehm and General Manager Joann Spiegel, the Miracle concept has spread widely and continues to open its doors to new cities around the world to this day.
During this time, Jeff “Beachbum” Berry joined the Miracle team to work on a tropical Christmas offshoot of Miracle, and from there the concept for Sippin ‘Santa was implemented. Described as one of Imbibe magazine’s “25 Most Influential Cocktail Personalities of the Last Century”, Beachbum is once again partnering with the Miracle team to bring Sippin ‘Santa back this year, including the flagship location at its own bar in New Orleans and selected cities around the country. Expect new, innovative cocktails as well as classic favorites.
New list of Christmas libations
Joann Spiegel, the cocktail expert behind Miracle’s recipe creation, is adding a new list of Christmas drinks to the menu this year, along with some recurring fan favorites, all of which play on classic seasonal flavors and are all served in playful and unique cups and signature Glassware.
As usual, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy unique seasonal cocktails in playful mugs and glasses that play with classic holiday flavors. New this year is the Elfing Around Cocktail as well as freshly updated and renewed recipes for the Jolly Koala, On Dasher and SanTaRex. Classic Miracle cocktail favorites for the season include the Christmapolitan, Christmas Carol Barrel, Snowball Old-Fashioned, Yippie Ki Yay Mother F **** r !, Jingle Balls Nog, Nice Shot and Naughty Shot.
At Sippin ‘Santa, this year’s cocktail list features new drinks such as White Russian Christmas, Azul Navidad, Yule Log Grog, The Regifter and Mistletoe-to-Toe. Popular tropical classics that are returning include Kris Kringle Kolada, Sippin ‘Santa, and Christmas Eve of Destruction.
The gift that always gives
As in previous years, the custom-made glassware Cocktail Kingdom® Miracle and Sippin ‘Santa will be offered exclusively for purchase at each location during the pop-ups, making them the gift that keeps you going. For the Christmas season 2021, Miracle will donate 10% of all proceeds from the sale of Santa Pants, Christmas Carol Barrel and Santa Head’s signature glassware to the James Beard Foundation Open for Good campaign to support the relief efforts of independent restaurants.

The two locations Miracle and Sippin ‘Santa will open their doors from November 22nd to December 31st and invite guests to toast in person. All pop-ups are adorned with sprigs of holly, twinkling lights, vintage garlands, ribbons, tchotchkes, and more, coupled with a soundtrack of Christmas carols for the ultimate in happiness.
The magically curated space will be the perfect backdrop for warm reunions and shared experiences with loved ones all season long … and we plan to enjoy it as much as possible!
