More indoor food. Two new Oceanside hotels with lots of new restaurants. Pasta specialists in Point Loma are expanding into the world of pizza. Eater San Diego shares the week’s top stories from our local food and drink scene.

Indoor Eating: 50% in, now that San Diego County is in the orange tier
With the possibility of a full reopening of California on June 15, if the numbers stay positive, San Diego County has been upgraded to the orange tier. The new allowances include 50 percent indoor seating for restaurants and the ability to operate non-food bars outdoors. In our latest episode of the San Diego Scene podcast, we’ll cover the changes to the orange levels (among other things).

New Oceanside Hotels offer a variety of dining options
Mission Pacific and The Seabird Resort, two Hyatt hotels to open in Oceanside on the coast in May, have six different restaurants, including a restaurant inspired by the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s top wine region, a rooftop bar, the Baja serves street food, and a vintage dessert lounge housed in a historic building.

The famous Top Gun house in Oceanside, North County of San Diego is undergoing renovations and may one day reopen as an ice cream parlor.

Point Loma pasta specialists expand into pizza
Cesarina, the popular Italian glass-enclosed pasta restaurant, is opening a new restaurant across the street in Point Loma that will focus on pizza. It’s called Angelo and will feature Neapolitan-style pizza and other wood-fired dishes, as well as a cheese factory that makes mozzarella and other cheeses in small batches.

Japanese style fried chicken lands on convoy
Rakiraki Ramen starts with its location on Convoy Street and offers a menu for Tokyo fried chicken. Junya’s Crisy Karaage offers marinated, double-fried chicken in a slider or on ramen and curry and offers a deluxe bento box filled with chicken, sushi rolls, gyoza and more.

Mr. Moto Pizza arrives in Little Italy
Local pizza chain Mr. Moto Pizza, which operates eight locations including Seaport Village, Pacific Beach and North Park, opens next week on India Street in Little Italy. The pizzeria, which specializes in New York-style slices and whole pies, is also expanding into the Friars Mission Center in Mission Valley.
