This Saturday, restaurant workers will be among the newest to be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in San Diego County. San Diego restaurant worker among the closest skilled group of key workers
Given the increasing availability of coronavirus vaccines, San Diego County has announced that it is moving ahead with the next phase of its vaccination schedule, also known as Phase 1B Tier 1.  including restaurant staff, can make vaccination appointments from February 17th.  In this phase, grocers and farm workers as well as people from the rescue service, childcare and education can be vaccinated. Tijuana style Birria arrives in Golden Hill
Birria El Rey, which started as a weekly pop-up in Golden Hill last fall, is now up and running six days a week as a full-fledged eatery.  The menu is dedicated to Birria and features braised, seasoned beef in all sorts of variations from tacos to quesadillas, tortas, burritos, and more – plus a culinary mash-up called “Birriamen,” which combines ramen noodles with birria and broth. 
Dessert Pop-Up has permanent ambitions
Recently launched during the pandemic, Puffs is a pop-up that highlights gourmet cream puffs that are made to order and available through Instagram and Yelp.  With a changing menu of flavors that includes varieties fortified with passion fruit and tea, the pop-up is set to become a stationary store where customers can build their own cream puffs.
Huge Chinese hot pot chain expands to San Diego
China’s largest chain of upscale hot pot restaurants opens in Westfield UTC this summer.  HaiDiLao specializes in Sichuan hot pot, where customers prepare meat, seafood and vegetables in pots with flavored soup at the table.  The chain is known for its over the top service offerings, including manicures for waiting guests and a hand-drawn noodle demo with dance performance.
LA’s fast-casual Chinese Noodle Shop is coming to Westfield UTC
Qin West Noodle was founded in Los Angeles, where several other locations in Chinatown have sprung up in the Southern California area.
