Sky Deck Takes Off: Italian Food and Craft Cocktails Debut at Del Mar Highlands Town Center
Sky Deck is the highly anticipated food collective at Del Mar Highlands Town Center, which includes nine restaurants, a bar, and an alfresco brewing deck. It’s in the early stages of opening and the first wave of food and drink includes Ambrogio15, the popular Italian restaurant, and a new craft cocktail bar called Understory. They are joining other tenants already operating, including three local breweries, and the full range of products kicks off in mid-July. Take a look around the room here.

Chef Shuffles at Juniper & Ivy, Campfire, Stone Brewing, and more
The latest chefs to impact local kitchens include news of Juniper & Ivy’s new chef hired after a nationwide search, as well as a changing of the guard at Campfire in Carlsbad, One Paseo’s International Smoke, two Stone Brewing locations, and Seasalt in Del Mar. Japanese sandwich shop comes to Mira Mesa
Kumo specializes in trendy Japanese sandwiches or sandos, which are made up of fluffy milk bread with fillings ranging from egg salad to chicken katsu and fruit and whipped cream. Kumo opens on Mira Mesa Boulevard this summer. In addition to sandwiches, the shop offers side dishes and sparkling drinks made from fresh fruit purees and matcha.
